1. About BioFlow Ocean

BioFlow Ocean is an Android and Wear OS wellness application. It provides user-initiated physiological measurements, personal ECG recording and visualisation, breathing exercises, meditation sessions, wellness trends and an animated Ocean environment.

BioFlow Ocean is not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition. Its results must not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

2. Information processed by the app

Depending on the device, available sensors, granted permissions and features used, BioFlow Ocean may process:

Physiological and wellness information
  • Heart rate and pulse intervals

  • Heart-rate variability and pulse stability

  • Blood oxygen measurements

  • Skin-temperature measurements

  • ECG waveform data

  • ECG signal quality and associated sensor metadata

  • Movement and sensor-contact information

  • Descriptive rhythm-pattern information

  • Breathing and meditation session measurements

  • Stress and settling indicators

  • Personal wellness trends derived from previous recordings

Location information

The phone app may use approximate or precise location, when permission is granted, to calculate local:

  • sunrise and sunset times;

  • day, dusk and night stages;

  • solar and lunar presentation;

  • moon orientation;

  • time-zone and location-aware Ocean colours.

Location is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling or tracking the user’s movements.

App and device information

BioFlow Ocean may process limited technical information necessary to operate its features, including:

  • app and analysis version information;

  • recording timestamps;

  • sensor availability;

  • device compatibility information;

  • sampling rate and signal metadata;

  • paired-device connection status;

  • settings and feature preferences.

BioFlow Ocean does not require the user to create an account.

3. How information is used

Information is processed only to provide user-facing functions, including:

  • recording and displaying physiological measurements;

  • recording, preserving and displaying ECG signals;

  • producing descriptive signal-quality and rhythm-pattern information;

  • maintaining personal measurement history;

  • comparing suitable recordings over time;

  • guiding breathing and meditation sessions;

  • calculating descriptive wellness trends;

  • synchronising the paired phone and watch;

  • generating location-aware Ocean visuals;

  • creating PDF and CSV exports requested by the user;

  • maintaining app settings and preferences;

  • diagnosing technical failures on the user’s device.

BioFlow Ocean does not use personal or health information for advertising or marketing.

4. Storage and device synchronisation

BioFlow Ocean is designed to store its application data locally on the user’s phone and watch.

Information is transferred between a paired Wear OS watch and phone using the Wear OS Data Layer and associated Google Play services. Platform services may process information as technically necessary to deliver paired-device communication.

On supported Samsung watches, BioFlow Ocean uses the Samsung Health Sensor SDK or associated Samsung platform components to access supported sensors. These components operate subject to Samsung’s applicable terms and privacy practices.

The current release does not use a developer-operated account system, analytics service, advertising service or remote health-data database.

5. Data sharing

BioFlow Ocean does not sell, rent or trade personal, health or location information.

Information may leave the app only in the following circumstances:

  • when it is transferred between the user’s paired phone and watch;

  • when Android, Google Play services or Samsung platform components process information to provide requested device functionality;

  • when the user deliberately exports or shares a PDF, CSV or other record;

  • when disclosure is legally required.

When a user chooses to export or share a record, the selected destination application or service processes that copy according to its own privacy policy.

6. Data retention and deletion

Local records remain on the user’s devices until the user:

  • deletes them within BioFlow Ocean, where deletion controls are available;

  • clears the app’s storage;

  • uninstalls the app;

  • resets the relevant device.

ECG records moved to deleted items may remain locally until they are permanently removed.

Records queued on the watch may remain there temporarily until transfer to the paired phone is acknowledged or until local app data is cleared.

Files exported by the user are stored at the destination selected through Android. Deleting a record inside BioFlow Ocean does not delete copies previously exported to another application, cloud service or storage location.

Because BioFlow Ocean does not currently operate user accounts or a developer health-data server, the developer does not hold a remotely accessible copy of the user’s BioFlow records and cannot remotely retrieve or delete local records.

7. Permissions

BioFlow Ocean may request permissions for:

  • body sensors and physiological measurements;

  • physical activity or movement;

  • notifications;

  • approximate or precise location;

  • audio, vibration and haptic feedback;

  • paired Wear OS communication.

Permissions are used only for the functions described in this policy. Users can withdraw permissions through Android or Wear OS settings, although doing so may prevent related features from working.

8. Security

BioFlow Ocean uses Android application storage and platform security controls to protect locally stored information. Paired-device communication is handled through Wear OS platform services.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect their phone and watch with appropriate device security and take care when exporting sensitive physiological records.

9. Automated analysis

BioFlow Ocean may calculate descriptive signal-quality, rhythm-pattern and wellness information from locally recorded data.

These calculations:

  • are provided for personal information and wellness purposes;

  • do not make clinical decisions;

  • do not provide a medical diagnosis;

  • do not determine access to employment, insurance, credit or healthcare;

  • do not produce legal or similarly significant decisions about the user.

No opaque third-party ECG artificial-intelligence model is included in the current release.

10. Children

BioFlow Ocean is intended for adults and is not directed towards children.

The developer does not knowingly collect children’s information through a developer-operated service. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has contacted the developer or provided personal information should use the contact address below.

11. Legal basis and user choices

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, BioFlow Ocean processes information:

  • to provide functions deliberately requested by the user;

  • with the user’s permission for protected sensor and location access;

  • for the developer’s legitimate interest in maintaining the security and reliability of the application;

  • where necessary to comply with legal obligations.

Users control whether to grant optional permissions and whether to initiate measurements, retain records or export information.

12. User rights

Depending on where the user lives, applicable data-protection law may provide rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability.

Most BioFlow Ocean information is stored locally and can be managed directly on the user’s devices. Because the developer does not receive a remote copy of these records, the developer cannot normally access, correct or export them on the user’s behalf.

Questions or privacy requests concerning information sent directly to the developer can be submitted using the contact address below. Users may also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.

13. International and platform processing

Android, Google Play services, Wear OS, Samsung platform components and any export destination selected by the user may process information in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies. Their processing locations and safeguards are controlled by those providers.

BioFlow Ocean does not independently transfer locally stored health records to a developer-operated server outside the user’s country.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when BioFlow Ocean’s features, data practices, legal obligations or platform integrations change.

The effective date at the top of the policy will be updated when material changes are made. Where appropriate, significant changes will also be communicated through the app or its Google Play listing.
